Nichiban (President Toshiaki Takatsu) 's Cellotape won the Grand Prize at the Social Products Awards 2020, sponsored by the Social Products Promotion Association.
"Cellotape" has been manufactured from natural materials derived from plants since the release in 1948. The fact that the amount of CO2 generated during incineration is about one-seventh that of plastic adhesive tapes has been evaluated as a product that can solve the "plastic waste problem".
The Social Products Award is the first and only award system in Japan that aims to realize a sustainable society through the spread and promotion of social products.
Zebra's Sarasa Clip Red Feather also won the award for the Social Products Award.
