Manufacturing giant 3M has revealed that organic sales at its Stationery and Office division were up in the second quarter.
Reported Q2 sales at 3M’s Stationery and Office unit were $351 million, down slightly compared with the $352 million achieved in Q2 2018. However, excluding currency effects, 3M said revenue increased organically – although it didn’t specify by how much.
Stationery and Office falls under the wider Consumer business group where Q2 sales improved organically by 0.7% to $1.3 billion. Consumer operating profit for the quarter was $268 million, down 3.6% year on year while operating margin fell by 70 basis points to 20.6%.
Reported Q2 sales at 3M’s Personal Safety division were $917 million, down from $936 million in last year’s second quarter, although 3M said that organic sales were, in fact, up.
