Japanese stationery manufacturer Kokuyo has indirectly taken a 37.5% stake in Pentel.
Kokuyo made the acquisition as a limited liability member of PI Investment Limited Partnership that is managed and operated by Mercuria Investment Co., Ltd. Overview The Partnership was established to invest in Pentel Co., Ltd. and it holds 37.45% of the common shares in Pentel.
Kokuyo said that “there is a business environment in which it is essential for companies with solid strengths to build alliances with each other and create new value to continuously improve corporate value in the global stationary domain.”
