India-based writing instruments manufacturer Linc Pen and Plastics has entered a distribution agreement with Chinese office products brand Deli Group.

Starting in November, the partnership gives Linc the rights to sell and market over 2,000 Deli products in India. Established in 1976, Linc manufactures and distributes writing products, as well as other stationery items. The company also holds an exclusive license from Mitsubishi Pencil to distribute and market Uni-ball products in the country.

Deli has two primary stationery segments – Deli School and Deli Office – which covers more than 14 categories. Deli is the largest stationery manufacturer in Asia, with a team of over 400 people and a presence in more than 100 countries across six continents.

Linc said the new partnership will enable it to address India’s growing stationery segment, which is projected to grow at a CAGR of 10.5% during 2018.

Linc Pen Managing Director Deepak Jalan said: “We believe in strategic partnerships which enhance our brand portfolio and also address the needs of the market. The demand for stationery products in India is increasing rapidly because of the improved standard of living and the shift in focus from inexpensive to premium quality products.”

Deli Group Managing Director of International Business Amanda Wang added: “We always look for long-term partnerships with brands that have strong presence in their markets and we feel this can turn out to be a bright opportunity as we begin our journey in India.”
