Leading Thailand-based office supplies reseller OfficeMate is planning a massive store expansion by introducing a franchising model, CEO Worawoot Ounjai has told The Bangkok Post.
In a recent interview with the Post, OPI Top 100 entry Ounjai confirmed the launch of a franchise prototype later this year as an “alternative model” for retail expansion in a digital world. He said he expected the number of franchise stores to reach 1,000 in Thailand within the next five years.
If the model is a success in Thailand, Ounjai said that OfficeMate would expand its franchise network across Asia as part of its international development strategy. The COL Group, OfficeMate parent company, formed a joint venture to expand into Vietnam last year, and around six new branches are planned for 2018.
