The GfK Institute unveiled the figures for the start of the 2019 school year at the end of October. Between 1 st July and 15 September 2019 (weeks 27-37), stationery recorded €600 million in revenue, down 1% compared to the same period last year. As in 2018, hypers and supermarkets are down 2.7% when specialized channels and pure players are up 5.6%. Large-scale retailers, however, remain the distribution channel in which 77% of the school market flows at this time.
